I had read some reviews of this campground stating that you could hear airplanes flying over all day long, and while we didn’t hear them all day, Idid hear a few in the very early hours of the morning. It’s a peculiar feeling to be so far out in nature with clear skies and a moon shining bright, yet also so close to being connected to the rest of the world by aircraft zipping over that can make it from one destination to another in seemingly lightning bolt time.
After breakfast, the kids zipped off into the woods to do their Junior Ranger work of collecting trash and recycling that others have left behind. Seb’s greatest find was a hefty hatchet!
Today’s agenda was a trip to the Pittsburgh Zoo.We had acquired a couple of tickets at a benefit auction we attended a few months ago, so it made perfect sense to build a visit into our itinerary. The kids were excited to see so many different animals and sea life up close, and they sure got in a lot of steps today! My phone tells me I walked over 5 miles today!
All are nestled into bed now... I’m sure they’re dreaming of lemurs and those cute clouded leopard cubs (Rukai and Kansas) that are only 2 months old.
Here are a couple of pics from the day:
